Mustard Tempered Red Lentils

Ingredients
1 cup red lentils (masoor dal)
½ tsp turmeric powder
1 onion, finely chopped
3 tbsp mustard oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
½ tsp cumin seeds
2 garlic cloves, crushed
Salt to taste
Steps
Cook lentils with turmeric until soft.
Heat mustard oil in a pan until it smokes lightly. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, garlic, and onions.
Pour this tempering over the cooked lentils, stir, and simmer for 2–3 minutes.
